We couldn’t be prouder from the reaction we have witnessed from our community! Earlier this month we announced our Nearest the Pin Competition to raise funds for our dear friend Dean Fox and in doing so, supporting the Dean Fox MND Foundation.What a start, we have already raised in excess of £7,430.
Participation: All groups are encouraged to join!
Event Setup: During your normal June group event, Ambassadors will select a par 3 hole for the competition.
How to Enter: Scan the QR code and make a donation of at least £10 (more generous contributions are welcome).
Recording Scores: Group Ambassadors will upload Group winners for entry into our ‘live’ draw.’
The day started with a difference to our networking meeting. Everyone got an opportunity to introduce themselves in the room and then we went onto power networking table by table… The new format was very well received.
David Harries thanked the 38 members in the room who had shared Golden Tickets in the last 6 months and then a special prize draw for those with 2+ Golden Tickets shared!
And the winner of a Dozen Pro V1 balls was none other than Paul Mortimer who had shared a very impressive 9 Golden Tickets. Thank you Paul on behalf of the community.
And then….onto a “brutal” test of golf…in cold persistent rain…and a golf course that was playing very very long. It was tough…very tough! That’s said the course was in excellent condition and as ever The Welcombe had prepared the course brilliantly for us.
Winners on the day….EVERYONE who completed the course.
In 1st place, scoring a combined 73 points was first timers Siobhan Collyer and Ash Collyer with 73 points….our first female winner of any national event in 11 years.
Siobhan also recorded the best score of the day with 42 points!! Wow!
In 2nd place it was the dynamic duo John Rawlings and Ben Cooper with 70 points
In 3rd place it was Paul Whitfield and Will Clayton with 67 points.
Nearest the Pin on hole 6 was Alex Cameron
Nearest the pin in 2 on hole 15 was Harry Boardman
And a special prize to Tim Elgar who kindly propped up the leaderboard with 18 points
